FREE MUSIC: thurz “l.a. riot” album
Friends at DJBooth.net hooked up with the homie, Los Angeles-based rapper Thurz, for a re-release of his L.A. Riot album for a limited time exclusive free download. L.A. Riot has garnered great reviews from HipHopDX and The Smoking Section, among others, and insightful interviews with LA Times and LA Weekly.
L.A. Riot was one of three albums I bought in the last two or some years. Maybe even longer than that. The others were Rocky Rivera’s self titled debut album and Radiohead’s The King of Limbs. It was worth every penny and the album has been in my iPod rotation ever since. Thurz wants you to spread the word about this free download. Take advantage of this generous offer of a solid project with a great message(s) before it goes away!
In addition to rhymes from King Thurz himself, vocals come from Black Thought of The Roots,Strong Arm Steady, BJ the Chicago Kid and others, with beats from the likes of Ro Blvd, DJ Khalil, Aaron Harris and more.
Free download over at DJBooth.net.
In addition, check out the below video, which features Thurz’s ongoing film project:
TRSH is an ongoing film, poetically documenting the Los Angeles state of mind through it’s darkest days, the 1992 Riots.
If you like the music so much that you want to support in dead presidents, L.A. Riot is available for purchase on iTunes or on DJBooth.net.
